Beachy Babe Nursery - Inspired by Bubble Chasers

We all love a relaxing trip to the beach. What if you could take a trip there every day?

With a Beachy themed nursery, you and your baby can step foot into a serene, relaxing ocean-scape every day! Our Classic Bubble Chasers print is our summertime favorite for its nautical nature – perfect for beach lovers and the ideal accessory to a beachy nursery!   What else will you need to create your beach or nautical-themed nursery? Check out our beachy babe must haves:

Lorena Canals Washable Rug in Stripes Nile Blue

The item description says “adds casual warmth to any room” – pretty spot on. This rug has the perfect beachy feel with whimsical two-tone tassels and a sandy white backdrop for its soft blue stripes. It reminds us of blue skies and blue oceans. It’s perfect for a boho beach look, or can be paired with more contemporary accessories for a more modern beach theme.

Best part? It’s machine washable.

Nautical Navy Blackout Curtains

Blackout shades for your baby’s room are a must. You’re going to want to keep their nursery nice and dark when bedtime comes around – this is going to help your baby distinguish their days and nights, which can be confusing as a newborn.

I love these navy Genevieve blackout curtains because of the small white line detail around the edges. If you’re going with an solid dark colored curtain, balance it out with lighter colored walls. Consider a white or cream, light grey, or powder blue – all will match your beach theme.

If you’re into a darker colored wall, take a look at these colorblock drapes from Pottery Barn Teen. They're mostly white, but are blackout lined, so they’ll keep the sunlight out, but keep the room itself bright. Its block of navy on the bottom make them a perfect match for your beach theme.

A Paddle “Oar” Two

Sea what I did there?  ….get it!? Alright, enough ocean puns. But seriously, old boat paddles and oars make such cute decoration in a nursery- and can be a clever storage solution if you add on some hooks. Either keep it a natural wood stain to look like something that washed ashore, or put a custom touch on it with a little paint and even monograms. Search for decorative oars on Etsy and you’ll be sure to find the perfect version for your little one’s nursery – they come in all shapes and sizes.

My personal favorites are this distressed wooden oar and these custom painted paddles – you can add names, distressing, and any color combination you want. These pieces are a bit pricey, so if you’re crafty, try picking up some old paddles at a yard sale or craft store and do the customizing yourself! This DIY meant for “cabin décor” outlines simple instructions that will totally work for your nursery project!

Another creative ocean-inspired piece of wall art: starfish. Yes, I know, another pun. I promise this is it!

Wall Art that Makes Waves

While we're talking about what to hang on the walls, there’s a few pieces that will be impossible for you to pass up. My absolute favorite is this Beach Baby definition sign – it honestly doesn’t get much cuter! Plus, its super neutral – so it will match whatever beachy color scheme you decide on. So will this handcrafted sign.

I also love this “No Wake Zone” distressed sign, that comes in a few different colors. Maybe hanging it up will actually make it happen? If you’re using your Bubble Chasers Zen Swaddle for nap and bed time, the sign should hold true!

And what would your beachy nursery be without a picture of an actual beach? Look through your own photos and see if you’ve got a nice ocean shot you can blow up and frame for above your baby’s crib. If not, you can get some cheap, but beautiful, ocean prints off Etsy! This ocean print comes in 8 sizes and 2 finishes and this painting can be printed on canvas, poster, wood and more!

Idea: If you have older kids, have them draw or paint their own pictures of the beach and ocean and use those as your ocean mural instead!
